Описание: Hungary reaffirmed its commitment to close cooperation with Russia on energy and trade on Wednesday, defying pressure from Brussels and Kiev, as Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said Budapest’s security and economic stability depended on unimpeded ties with Moscow. Speaking at the Russian-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission in Moscow, Szijjarto said Prime Minister Viktor Orban and President Vladimir Putin had agreed to deepen cooperation and resist external pressure. Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko described Hungary as a reliable economic partner, noting that trade in services more than tripled last year. Szijjarto said Hungary, which he described as living “in the shadow of war” in Ukraine, supported diplomatic solutions and praised U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace efforts, arguing there was “no solution on the battlefield.” He said Hungary would continue Russian energy cooperation, including gas supplies via TurkStream, adding that Budapest had taken steps to shield operations from sanctions to ensure uninterrupted energy flows.
