‘Attacks On Hindu Temples In US’: India BLASTS USCIRF After Report Seeks Sanctions On RSS, R&AW

Описание: India has rejected the 2026 report of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) that recommended targeted sanctions against the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) over alleged violations of religious freedom. Responding to the report, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the commission had once again presented a distorted and selective view of India based on questionable sources and ideological narratives rather than objective facts. He said such repeated misrepresentations undermine the credibility of the commission itself. Jaiswal also urged the body to focus on issues within the United States, including attacks on Hindu temples and intimidation of the Indian diaspora. The report had designated India as a “country of particular concern” and recommended linking US arms sales and trade policies to religious freedom conditions in the country.
