Our First Night In Our Bus Home! | Quick Test Camping Trip in the Skoolie

We set a deadline to finish the bus of August 15th by booking a nearby campsite. While the bus is not FINISHED, it is livable.  This may have been the most stressful 2 weeks of the build but hard work pays off.  We took the bus to Carter Lake in northern Colorado for a relaxing 2 day test of bus life. Tiff and I got some much needed nature therapy, played with the dogs until they were completely pooped, relaxed in the bus, got some fresh air, cooked on the campfire and in the bus, slept in the skoolie for the very first time and tested out all of our DIY systems.

We are excited to report that everything worked!  The dogs quickly acclimated to the space, we never felt cramped and could easily work around each other, and we slept relatively well! There was a little bit of a learning curve of course.  Tuco was restless the first night, Tiff’s allergies flared up while sleeping, and we are still figuring out how best to utilize our storage, but all in all, it was a success.

Since the bus is not “finished” (We know, it’ll never TRULY be complete), our tour video coming up will not be “the official tour”, but instead a “soft tour”.  Nevertheless, we are excited to show you what we’ve done!
