Training for a catastrophic incident takes planning, preparation and performance, especially when it involves one of the world’s busiest airports.
Charlotte Fire was a critical player in the triennial exercise at Charlotte Douglas International Airport - CLT to evaluate emergency response from multiple agencies.
The exercise scenario was a Charlotte airport inbound flight, carrying in excess of 100 passengers’, encounters a severe storm and crashes during landing off a runway.
Building and expanding these partnerships with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Mecklenburg EMS Agency - Medic American Red Cross American Airlines Charlotte Douglas International Airport - CLT Atrium Health and others is key for Charlotte Fire as we continue our mission of saving lives and protecting our community.
