Small Talk

Описание: My first animation with voice acting. Will occasionally do it again depending on the project and availability of voice lines.

I woke up in the middle of nowhere feeling dizzy. At first, it felt like one of those weird dreams but I could tell it was real. As I analyzed my surroundings I came to the conclusion that I was in the middle of a forest. That would have been better than the reality I found myself in. Because to my sheer disbelief, those skyscraper-sized trees were ordinary blades of grass which I noticed on closer inspection. Perhaps 'ordinary' was the wrong word considering how they were piercing into the sky with their unnatural size. Something was definitely wrong here.

"I'm shrunk!" I shouted in shock. Either that or I was transported into a giant world, I'm not sure which one sounded more rational at this point. What now? I'm lost, small, and will potentially meet my end at the hands of an insect in this massive grass field. My only option was to wander around, hoping to find anything or anyone for that matter. While walking I could only ponder to myself about this absurd reality I found myself in. There was nothing I could recall prior to me awaking in this state, it was like a black hole had vacuumed my memories.

What really scared me was the idea of actually encountering an oversized insect or maybe getting stepped on by a fellow normal-sized being who would most certainly mistake me for a bug. Just the idea sent shivers down my spine. As I found myself lost in those terrible thoughts something caught my attention, I was no longer walking on dirt but rather on solidly leveled ground. It was most undoubtedly man-made. I looked around and noticed something even more shocking, the clear blue sky was replaced with a ceiling.

"I-I'm in a house?!" I asked myself, surprised by my mindless wandering. How come I didn't notice it sooner? I must have been walking for hours to come this far. But this was somewhat of a nice place to be. No dangerously oversized insects would be able to devour me here. Besides, I could finally get some help from a taller individual. A bit of walking later and I got to see the living room in full glory. It's strange how being bug-sized can change your view of the world drastically, if this is how insects feel all the time I'm not surprised how hectic they get around humans.

Suddenly out of nowhere, two massive huge obstacles slammed down in front of me creating an intense shockwave that knocked me back. It was the most terrifying jumpscare I've ever been victim to. Both my heartbeat and breathing increased in pace due to the fright alone. I had to regain my senses quickly to understand what just happened. Taking another look at those big obstacles my jaw almost dropped to the floor. Those weren't any regular-sized objects blocking my path, they were two enormous bare feet. And strangely, they were blue.

This had to be a dream, there simply was no logical explanation for these events that occurred to me. But I was quickly brought back into the nightmare as the oversized feet began wiggling their gargantuan toes on the floor. Was this giant aware of my presence? And more importantly, was he teasing me with his toes? I looked up to the giant show-off and almost passed out. It was Sonic the Hedgehog! I couldn’t get any words out, this was such a strange situation I found myself in.

“Well, look what the cat dragged in.” the giant spoke down amused with a booming voice. It froze my entire body. He noticed my presence and decided to taunt me despite my clear unfavorable situation. I figured that the blue giant was just being his usual cocky self but that’s when he made his next move. The most horrifying scenario I could imagine occurred next, the beloved speedy hero lifted his bare foot into the air providing me with a frightening view of his boyish sole. I began to panic even more now as I rightfully understood that the gigantic hedgehog was mistaking me for a mere bug on his floor.

Still stunned, I observed the blue god’s action in pure terror. He was confident which became obvious when he decided to wiggle his gargantuan toes again. And if that wasn’t the peak of arrogance already, a wholesome chuckle that came with it was. There was nothing I could do. Sonic was a hero known for his incredible speed, some people even speculating that he could reach speeds beyond light. Therefore stomping a bug like me in his own household was no chore. I could have a head start of a million years and he would still catch up to me in a couple of seconds.
