The South Downs National Park is the newest national park in England. It was officialially registered on 31 March 2010 and covers an area of 1,627 sq km. It is located in southern England and stretches for 140 km: from Eastbourne in the east to Winchester in the west through the counties of Hampshire, West Sussex and East Sussex. Hiking this area is great since it has various hilly sections with open fields and wooded places, making it challenging and varied. With the Seven Sisters chalk cliffs in a close proximity, great views are guaranteed. In my view, one of the best hiking places in England.
