About Friggin Time - H2Overdrive (via arcade emulation) - Wild America with Raw Thrills + Game Intro

Описание: WELL THEN, HERE'S THE BIG ONE. I managed to get ahold of H2Overdrive and via the magic of arcade emulation, i can finally play the Hydro THunder successor at long last, been waiting 10 years to play this and it is glorious.

The first track i'll be showing off is Wild America a relatively tame Easy difficulty track and using the Raw Thrills boat (as is Hydro Thunder tradition, using the boat named after the devs.. or well the publisher in this case) and the Raw Thrills boat is a decent all rounder, though its boost power leaves a bit to be desired.

There are quite a few differences between this and past Hydro Thunder games, most notably of which is the changes to boost pickups, Blue ones now only give 2 seconds compared to 4, Red ones give 6 compared to 9... However the game gives you a multitide of ways to keep boosting despite these cutbacks, from allowing players to stunt manouver off of ramps, Gold pickups which activate a 6-8 second super-powerful afterburner for insane speed, taking out enemy boats with the megahull ability actually gives 1 sec of boost now, so now there's more of a reason to ram into people, aaaaand there is also the Hull Crusher, which causes your boat to become a black hole essentially, sucking anythihng nearby close to you and sending you and any other small objects FLYING, and each hit on an enemy boat with this also gives you boost.

There is also a new technique in this game called the Hydro Turn, by pressing the brake while turning and then accelerating again, you use up nearly 2 seconds of boost to perform an instant acceleration with more boost power than normal (but not quite stage 2) and you have immense grip, allowing you to tackle much tighter corners than otherwise possible... it basically becomes absolutely necessary for some tracks later in this series as you'll soon see, and is generally faster than boosting normally at the cost of using most boost per second.
