Lake Cadagno is a mountain lake in the municipality of Quinto in the north of the canton of Ticino. The lake is located on the Piora Alp below Pizzo Taneda at 1,921 meters above sea level. Lake Cadagno is just under 850 meters long, 420 meters wide, and is drained by the Murinascia di Cadagno.
The lake water consists of three different layers, which is unique in Europe. The water conditions in the lake are so interesting that there is a research center located there. Day trippers either picnic directly on the shore of the lake or eat at the Ristorante Canvetto on the western shore of Lago di Cadagno.
There are other mountain lakes around Lago di Cadagno.
