We're out here again, getting our ski legs back on the CA-NV border! While definitely not skiing at our peak, we managed a reasonable 6200ft of vert between a late start and lunch.
We had some equipment malfunctions, with me being unable to tighten my left boot until I removed it and worked on it in the East Peak Lodge, and Chris' Helmet. He has since been able to repair with a spare part from his last helmet. (In case it needs repeating: DO NOT SKI WITHOUT A SKI HELMET).
We are also all 3 rocking out on @momentskisusa Wildcats, because we expected variable snow conditions, but with the amount of ice we encountered, I'm pretty sure my metal laminate @thisisarmada Declivity 92ti's would have been the better call for Heavenly's wide-open icy groomers. Oh well, I'm still pumped to be getting to know the Wildcat 108, they are burlier than I am used to. And they look absolutely incredible. I can already tell they are destined for some sick off-piste lines.
