I was introduced to Dr. Goodenowe by a mutual colleague and he really struck a chord with me when he told me about plasmalogens. As we discussed dementia and its root causes, he shared how these unique chemicals of the membrane of our brain called plasmalogens can become deficient and that they may be one of the key links to understanding neurodegeneration and cognitive decline.
