Modeling and Simulation of a DFIG-Based Wind Energy Conversion System with Partial-Scale Converter
This project presents the modeling, control, and simulation of a Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) based Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS) using MATLAB/Simulink. The DFIG employs a partial-scale back-to-back converter, allowing variable-speed operation with reduced converter rating and improved system efficiency.
The control structure includes Rotor-Side Converter (RSC) control for active/reactive power regulation and Grid-Side Converter (GSC) control for DC-link voltage stabilization and grid support. Simulation results demonstrate enhanced power quality, flexible reactive power control, and improved grid integration.
