On 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟮𝟱 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆, 𝗪𝗶𝗠𝗦𝗔 hosted our 𝗚𝗕𝗩 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽, the first in our 𝟤𝟢𝟤𝟨 𝘝𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘚𝘢𝘧𝘦𝘵𝘺 campaign. Co hosted by 𝗪𝗶𝗠𝗦𝗔 Vice President 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗯𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗶 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗵𝗶 and GBVF Lead 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗸𝘂𝗵𝗹𝗲 𝗭𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗲, the session brought together industry leaders and wellness specialists to confront the realities of gender based violence and harassment in mining.

With insights from 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗸 and 𝗠𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗸𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮, the discussion highlighted that unreported harm weakens safety culture and leadership credibility. The message was clear: GBV and harassment are not peripheral HR issues, they are safety issues, leadership issues, and culture issues. If mining is committed to 𝗭𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗺, dignity and psychological safety must be part of that commitment.

We extend our gratitude to our panelists, partners, and attendees for their honesty, courage, and engagement in what is often a difficult but necessary conversation. Together, we are moving from awareness to prevention, from anecdotes to accountability.

Building safer, more accountable workplaces is not the responsibility of a few; it is a collective commitment that calls on all of us to take part.
