For as long as I can remember, I’ve been a huge fan of the Alien franchise—and after watching Alien: Earth, I was inspired to finally make my own Xenomorph Egg Pod (Ovomorph). In this video, I’ll show you step by step how I transformed a simple polystyrene egg into a terrifyingly realistic Alien prop using foam clay, Mod Podge, acrylics, 3D printing, and UV resin.

From sculpting the iconic egg petals, to building a Nostromo-inspired base with 3D printed floor panels, to adding that slimy, wet finish—this project brings the Alien universe to life right on the workbench.

🔹 In this video you’ll see how I:

Sculpted the egg petals with foam clay

Used Mod Podge & paper layering for leathery texture

3D printed iconic Nostromo floor panels for the base

Added alien-like tentacles for organic detail

Painted with acrylics, inks & airbrush for a cinematic look

Finished with UV resin for that glossy “freshly hatched” slime effect
