The Diplomat Hotel is an abandoned hotel and former seminary located in Baguio City, Philippines. Known for its eerie ambiance and chilling history, it has become a popular destination for those interested in paranormal tourism. Originally built in the early 1900s as a retreat house and later converted into a seminary for Dominican priests, the structure eventually became the Diplomat Hotel in the 1970s when it was acquired by spiritual healer and businessman Tony Agpaoa.
The hotel ceased operations in the 1980s after Agpaoa’s death, and the building fell into disrepair. Local legends and stories of hauntings have circulated since, attributed to both its wartime history and reported sightings of ghostly apparitions. During World War II, the site witnessed significant violence and suffering, adding to its haunted reputation.
Today, the Diplomat Hotel is a popular tourist attraction and heritage site. The Baguio City government has preserved its structure, making it accessible for visitors to explore and appreciate its history, with many still drawn by its ghostly legends.
