Attempting (and failing!) to cure an irritating tapping noise which the leafer has developed. It's sounding much like a failed cam roller (flat spot possibly) but as the rocker shaft was badly worn, I thought it a sensible place to start. It has made the engine quieter and it's got a bit more get up and go... 0-50 timed at a rip roaring 40 seconds....
Next thing to do is remove the cylinder head and have a look-see at the cam rollers and bronze tappets.
She passed her MOT today, just one advisory. Steering relay replacement required, oh joy! There shall of course be a video.
WRD is a 1983 109" Series 3 with the 5 main bearing 2.25 petrol engine.
