BEST Bus on Coastal Road! PMI Electric bus makes debut in Mumbai

This might be one of the first videos of the Brand New PMI Bus of BEST on Mumbai Coastal Road. The PMI Electric Buses that were ordered by Brihanmumbai Electric Supply & Transport Undertaking in 2023 have finally started arriving in Mumbai from August 2025.

The first batch of 5 buses entered service on route A-84 on 7th September 2025 - immediate day after the Anant Chaturdashi. This video covers the route from Churchgate to Siddhivinayak Temple through a Timelapse via the Mumbai Coastal Road named after second king of the Hindavi Swarajya, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj - son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Special Thanks to Busfan Shahzad Shaikh to allow me use two pictures of the interiors.

PMI Foton was first introduced to Mumbai Metropolitan Region in 2019, when an operator Utopia Greentrans Pvt. Ltd. ran an Electric Bus for Thane Municipal Transport (TMT). This one of its kind bus was seen on route AC-65 between Thane Station & Borivali Station via the Ghodbunder Road. The BEST Route A-84 is the first one to ply from Worli to Marine Drive via the Coastal Road & second one to use this Coastal Highway after the route A-78 that runs between Byculla & Colaba.
