Soon, you won’t be able to set AC temperature to 18°C anymore! Government of India is working with all AC manufacturers to fix AC temperatures between 20°C to 28°C. This means, any AC, be it your home AC, office, hotel, and even your car AC has to be within the fixed limits only. The Government is doing this to reduce the electricity consumption, because every 1°C increase in AC temperature reduces energy use by 6%, and for 100 million ACs throughout the country, it’ll save 3GWs of electricity, which can possibly reduce blackouts.
