Описание: This video shows shows some microscopic views of the colonial algae, Eudorina. The specimen was found in irrigation ditch water east of Hamilton, MT. Images were captured with a Zeiss Axioskop 50 microscope equipped with DIC optics. DIC optics were able to reveal the details of flagella movement associated with the individual cell groupings found within the outer gelatinous matrix. Eudorina is similar to Pandorina, another colonial algae. However, in Eudorina, the cell groups are more widely spaced within the outer gelatinous mass than in Pandorina.
