Operation Modes in SAP

Описание: Every SAP System can have several application servers to support effective load balancing. Application server will have a dispatcher and set of work processors like dialog, background, update, enqueue and spool work processes depending upon the usage of the system.

Operation modes let you flexibly adapt the system configuration to varying requirements, maximizing the use of available system resources.

An operation mode defines a resource configuration for the instances in your system. It can be used to determine which instances are started and stopped, and how the individual services are allocated for each instance in the configuration.
