Pregnancy's joys can come with occasional breathlessness. Breathing difficulty in pregnancy..
It's not uncommon for women to have breathing difficulty in pregnancy. Lots of physiological changes happen in your lungs, to break it down in simple language - your growing belly pushes up your diaphragm or the barrier between your chest and the abdomen. So youre lungs are actually thriving in a bit of low space to expand. You tend to breathe faster and more number of times - which is called as hyper ventilation. You may feel like you're unable to take a complete breath or you have to probably work to take a full breath which was not the case before. And of course the hormonal changes which only add oil to the fire. Now here are a few things you can do to overcome it.
7 WAYS TO REDUCE FEELING THIS WAY
1. Practice relaxed breathing
2. Most women experience difficulty as they lie down, try sleeping in a propped up position and on your left
3. Stand as straight as you can, posture plays a very important
4. Slow down, don't panic. Working hard or rushing or panicking is only going to put stress on your heart and lungs and aggravate the breathing difficulty
5. Breathing exercises - I'm going to show you a couple of exercises which can relieve difficulty breathing, comment YES
6. Exercise - of course not at the time of difficulty, but in general have a decent exercise routine. Aerobic exercise actually helps keep your circulatory that is heart and blood vessels as well as respiratory - lung capacities and functions in check
7. Know when to seek medical help. Remember these are all measures for mild to moderate level of breathing difficulty which is very physiological. If it's pathological, or if you're someone with asthma, please inform your doctor and take medications for the same. Any exacerbation/ acute breathing difficulty please go to a hospital.
