A new extremist group, United Liberation of Bodoland (ULB), has taken up arms in Assam demanding a separate state of Bodoland. Through a video statement, a leader of the group threatened the Assam Government of carrying out bomb blasts if their demands weren’t met. The group also threatened to abduct government employees if any of their members were killed in encounters.
“We clearly state that there will be bomb blasts in Assam and BTC. We will never tolerate the government torturing the family members of ULB cadres. We are ready to face encounters as our fight is for our community,” a leader of the outfit could be heard saying in the video.
