Why I Replaced My 5 Month Old Marantz SR7013 With A Lexicon RV-6

Описание: Like I mentioned in the video, I wasn’t planning on making this video for quite some time.

I am always going to shoot you straight, even when things go wrong.

These are my reasons for swapping out my 5 month old, open box Marantz SR7013, for a new Lexicon RV-6:

1.) The Marantz started shutting off, sporadically.

This issue started about two weeks ago and at first, it would only shut off every 1 - 2 hours. As time went on, the shutting off happened more and more frequently.

The last movie I watched, which was the night before this video, was Tenet and this damn receiver started shutting off every 10 minutes or so.

Made a hard to understand movie, nearly impossible to understand. Haha

The receiver would shut off, the orange light would flash but when I turn it back on, it would fire right back up.

2.) Loud popping from the left surround channel.

This receiver had a cake-walk life. I had never used any of the internal amps, as I had the matching amplifier powering my speakers, the MM7055.

When I got frustrated with Marantz I sold the wonderful MM7055 and hooked up my 4 speakers to the internal amps in the SR7013.

About 15 minutes into a movie, my left Atlantic Technology surround speaker made a series of very loud popping noises. This popping was so loud that I thought it was going to blow this awesome speaker.

Again, pretty frustrating.

Those two issues, along with me having to be without my 5 month old to me, receiver for about 3 - 4 months was just unacceptable to me.

Luckily, the nice crew at my local Magnolia Hi-Fi said that they would box it up and ship it for me at no charge, which I truly appreciate.

This receiver is under warranty and this repair isn’t going to cost me anything but I just don’t think it’s reasonable for me to go 3 - 4 months without it.

Please let me know if you feel I’m being unreasonable. I might also just be spoiled by Martin Logan and SVS customer support/return policies.

No hate for Marantz or anything as I know this is probably a very rare occurrence but I wanted to share.

I am planning on making a Lexicon/Dirac Live impressions as soon as I get some seat time with it.

I did hook it up tonight and this is definitely the best sounding receiver I’ve ever purchased, right out of the box!

So far so good:)
