The #Striker ARFF is customizable with a wide array of thermal imaging camera options. One option is a pan and tilt camera mounted on top of the cab with an operational joystick inside the cab which moves the camera. Trucks can also be equipped with fixed units, with the movement of the camera performed by moving the turret. The display screen inside the cab displays the images from the thermal camera to the operator. This feature helps operators determine the location of a fire, and hot spots within a fuselage so the responders can determine a proper response to the situation. As shown in the video, even heat invisible to the naked eye is picked up from the smokestacks using the thermal imaging.
