On a rainy, cold day in Mactan New Town, I stayed inside and used a voice over from a recent pool day to talk about a simple rule I live by now, I will never fight for love. Not because I am bitter, but because I value peace more than drama, and I have learned what chasing usually costs men, emotionally and financially. This is my opinion, based on my own life experience living in Canada, South Korea, and now Cebu, plus what I have seen happen to other expats who arrive lonely, vulnerable, and too willing to compromise.

In this vlog I explain what I mean by fighting for love, things like begging, chasing, apologizing for nonsense, tolerating disrespect, or staying in situations that create stress just to avoid being alone. I also break down why online romance before you arrive in Southeast Asia is a high risk move, and how quick attachment can turn into heartache, manipulation, and expensive mistakes. I share a real example story about a man who rushed into a relationship, got pulled into supporting an entire household, and had to play the long game just to escape.

If you are over 50 and thinking about retiring abroad, this is a mindset check. Your relationship should add peace to your life, not take it away.
