Dear friends, I hope you are all doing well!

Here I am, putting the video Nr. 215, one more video of the serie TÚNEL DO TEMPO! Today presenting the AMÉRICO ANTOINE OCTET, a band that I had the honor to play when I just arrived in São Paulo maybe in 1984? I was just starting playing the saxophone, at the time flute was my main instrument.

Some years ago our dear friend Cida found 9 VHS Tapes in the old house of my parents in Assis and I am so happy that I found those historical documents! It was such a great time playing in that band, I learned a lot from them. I joined the band when I was 13, playing the recorder (flauta doce!). Them with 14 I started with flute and with 16 the saxophone.

A LITTLE ABOUT US:
Such an incredible time, TV Cultura used to have many programs were musicians were playing live on TV! This CAFÉ CONCERTO program was leaded by the famous BOSSA NOVA BAND ZIMBO TRIO. They also used to have a great music school, the CLAM, were I used to have some good friends teaching there. I was so happy, every time I could visit my friends there, like FERNANDO CORRÊA, CONRADO PAULINO, GIBA ESTEBES and many others.
Some of the musicians I know until now. I had the honor to play many times after that with BOCATO, even here in Switzerland were we also recorded together for RAFAEL LIMA (from Belém do Pará). RENATO CONSORTE maybe I saw once somewhere... BOCATO used to say that I can "um cara novinho (no vinho) mas que hoje eu jâ estou na pinga ha ha ha).
