(NEW BUS) Foothill Transit 2020 New Flyer XN60

Описание: On Monday, September 28, 2020, some new buses began hitting the streets and freeways of the San Gabriel Valley as Foothill Transit's 2020 New Flyer XN60s officially began service, replacing the 2006 NABI 60-BRTs which have been in service since the Silver Streak began service in 2007. I was actually already planning to record one of their NABI 60-BRTs on the Silver Streak from Pomona to Montclair as they only come out on weekdays, but then I got word earlier that afternoon that several units, 2901, 2902, and 2903, were now officially in service on the Silver Streak. I looked through the schedules of those units on TransitFeeds and I found out that 2901 was doing a westbound trip from Montclair TransCenter. I went to Pomona and rode 1606 eastbound to Montclair (that ride along video will be released at a later date) where I then waited for 2901 to show up.

Once I got on 2901, I was impressed with the seating, featuring the vinyl seats that are also found in FT's 2020 ENC Axess BRTs. I was hoping to sit in the very back of the bus, but unfortunately there was an unmasked couple that got on board and was arguing and talking loudly throughout the video so apologies for the language they use if you hear it. As with Foothill's many other buses, there's an AC compressor so I wasn't able to hear the engine clearly for most of the video, but there were a minutes where I was able to hear the engine and it sounded pretty good. I finally arrive at Pomona TransCenter where I left my car. As 2901 left I noticed another man filming it leaving as well, and it turned out that he works at Foothill Transit as well so it was nice meeting him.

Interesting fact: I would later find out 2901 had an incident later on the night I rode it, there was apparently an incident involving the bike rack so it was put out of service until it's fixed. Otherwise, look out for more XN60s coming out in the coming weeks and months as the NABI 60-BRTs are retired by the end of October.
