During lockdown, we tested a new way of creating community-led artistic and creative activities, pairing people from South East Northumberland with professional artists to explore the creative potential of their idea and think about how to develop the next stage of their work.
This week we showcase the Brothers in Art - an independent art group who have worked together for the last few years, with support from our Arts for Wellbeing Manager.
During lockdown, one of the members, Garry, wrote his own album of covers and new music. Garry's passion for sharing his album, and the group members’ shared passion to help others to have a go at music making, is driving this commission.
As part of the mini-commission the group collaborated with three musicians - Nick John Williams, Bethany Elen Coyle and Gary Bowden to explore making soundtracks, songwriting and the online music platform Bandlab.
