You've got 31 days to build a robot that can navigate the field, get to the other side, turn around, locate its opponent and shoot ping pong balls. Easy right? Welcome to UC Santa Cruz's Mechatronic's class.
In UC Santa Cruz's Mechatronics class, student teams have 10 weeks to build a robot that can navigate a complex field, locate their opponent, and shoot it with ping-pong ball ammo. The robots are designed from the ground up by the students, who develop the sensors, the chassis, and the software to create their ultimate fighting 'bots. The robots are entirely autonomous; once started the robots make all of their own decisions to win the match. Learn more at soe.ucsc.edu.
