We recently had the opportunity to assist with the Thompson Valley Road widening project. There was lots of difficult drilling while harnessed and plenty of deep holes that stretched the limits of a hand drill. Most shots used detonating cord, some used nonel delay dets. For the last two rocks, they said "we don't want any big pieces"... you should never say that to a blasting contractor...
