Hi, I’m Chang. At 21, I’m navigating life alone in the city, learning to stand on my own two feet.

Today, I want you to meet the reason why I need to work so hard. This is my dad. He cannot hear or speak, but for over two decades, his hard work on construction sites has spoken volumes. For 20 years, he has traded his sweat in the dust and heat to carry the weight of our low-income family.

I’m showing you his harsh reality not for pity, but to share my absolute biggest motivation. Growing up watching him labor in silence taught me everything about resilience. Everything I do right now is for my family. My ultimate goal is to work hard enough so that he no longer has to.
