This is a Tamarind plant which I bought from a Nursery stock in 2020.I paid ₹ 200 then. I purchased it with the perpective that I would create a Shohin Bonsai style with it in the future.Today I am doing a major work on it
like the selection of branches and most importantly to change the Soil as the nursery soil was visibly not appropriate for bonsai. Now there is definitely a benefit when you start with a nursery stock as you will save 2-3
years,(depending on your choice) But you have to choose the right plant which has a good future. My advice is to take considerable time to inspect the plant properly. Keep in mind the design that you would bestow
on it and have the perspective in advance as to which branches will enhance the look. Another aspect is, which would be the frontal view of the plant. Now I am cutting off all the unwanted roots. Thereafter I'm chopping off all the unwanted branches. Here I'm discarding away maximum number of unwanted branches. I'm working on the remnant, which are just these three branches.Use any sharp sterilised cutter to trim the deadwood portion of the trunk.
Here I'm using a concave-cutter.
Within 1-2 years the bark will protrude and envelope the scar.
At this point I will repot with simple gardening soil mix with compost.
The nursery soil was mere dirt. There is a word of caution here. If I repot this plant with my usual bonsai soil mix, maybe it will be very difficult for the plant to cope up with.
The reason being, the usual bonsai soil mix will turn out to be extremely potent for this tender plant leading to its untimely cessation. Wiring phase
Here I'm wiring very carefully and giving some movement to the plant.
Use both hands while you are wiring the branches.

After repotting I will shift it to a shade to recuperate for 15 days.
After a month I will feed it slowly with low dosage.
Don't be over enthusiastic by feeding right after repotting because it needs some time to stabilize and pull through. Watering should continue until you see water seeping out from the drainage holes at the bottom. Once you see water seeping out then stop pouring water. The best method right after repotting any plant is to bathe the plant once.

This is the outcome after 3 months. Now I'm removing the wires.But sadly it's too late,I made a blunder.Here you can see distinct wire marks.

Now I can feed this plant with full regime.
