My name is Harold Banks and I am seventy two years old. Most people look at me and see just another retired black man moving a little slower than he used to maybe walking with a cane on the bad days. They do not see the mind that designed three of the tallest skyscrapers in Chicago. They do not see the patents for sustainable concrete that made me a fortune before I turned fifty. And they certainly do not see the rage burning cold and steady beneath my tailored suit. I spent my life calculating loads and stresses ensuring that the structures I built could withstand hurricanes and earthquakes. Yet ironically I failed to notice the structural rot in the foundation of my own home until the roof was about to collapse on my head.
