Well, if you pay attention to the map at the beginning of the video - you'll know exactly how deep this mine goes. But as we made our way deeper during this exploration, we had no idea how deep these workings would take us. This mine seemed to just keep going and going.
While the layout of each level was nearly identical, the details of the timberwork, and chute designs began to change as we descended deeper. This was due to the fact that the upper levels were the first to be worked, and thus are now older than the lower levels. It's like a historic progression of mining engineering as applied to a single mine.
In the 300 Levels and below, there still was no shortage of collapse and failed timbers, just like we saw on the 100 and 200 Levels. However, the condition of the mine noticeably improved the deeper we got. It also got hotter and more humid!
