Описание: Sold here for only the 4th time in 100 years, is a genuine antique 1917 Stanley Steamer Touring Car in running condition.

The current owner sought after and recently received the expertise and assistance from Jay Leno to get the vehicle delivered, dialed-in and running properly at Jay's Big Dog Garage in Burbank, California. Mr. Leno is an owner, fan and collector of these early steam automobiles. His kindness and knowledge of the Stanley automobile were instrumental in getting the car to perform as you see it here today.

The Stanley Steamer is unlike any other car. The Stanley's motive power is steam. Built up in advance, or "stored power" is produced in a boiler with no moving parts. This power is delivered to the engine without a fly-wheel, clutch, transmission, gear shift or drive shaft. The power is controlled by a single finger throttle. Steam is generated by a kerosene power plant that is no more complicated than that of a Kerosene stove boiling water.

The Stanley engine has but 15 moving parts with just two cylinders. It is located to the nearest possible point to the rear axle with maximum power available at low or high speeds. A Stanley Steamer delivers a continuous flow of power making it most efficient.
