The ATP test is a process of rapidly measuring actively growing microorganisms through detection of adenosine triphosphate, or ATP.
The swab collects what’s on the surface. The meter then reads the amount of ATP and delivers a result. Generally this is used to verify cleaning effectiveness but can be used as a tool to identify levels of organic matter on a surface to give us a rough idea of cleanliness.
The purpose of our daily samples is to provide a general idea of how clean various surfaces may be. For educational and entertainment purposes.
0-30 Food Safe
30-100 Clean
101-200 Caution
201-500 Contaminated
501-1000 High Risk of Spreading Infection
1000+ Extreme Risk of Spreading Infection
In real world scenarios we’d like to see values under 200 and certainly don’t want to see values over 1000.
