Hello guys, and welcome back to Car Obsession. A few weeks ago I tested the brand new Ford Focus ST petrol, and I thought it was a tremendous car. Sadly I had to give the keys back, but after doing so, I was handed the keys to this, the diesel ST.
Powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged EcoBlue engine, it has 10% more power (190hp) and TWICE the amount of torque (400Nm) compared to the 2.0 litre TDCI engine used in the last model. 62mph is dealt with in 7.6 seconds, and the top speed is 137mph. The power is mated to the front wheels using a 6-speed manual - unlike the petrol version, the diesel will not get the option of the 7-speed automatic.
The diesel also loses out on the impressive e-LSD system, but it does come standard with torque vectoring.
