"50 GOLDEN YEARS"
THEN AND NOW.
The Honourable D. Halson Moultrie, Speaker of the House of Assembly, on Thursday, 17th. June 2021, congratulated The Beginning of the End band on the 50th. Golden Anniversary of their classic worldwide hit song "Funky Nassau" 1971-2021
Remarks were also extended to the late Freddie Munnings Sr. OBE, who would have also celebrated his 100th. Anniversary 2021, the father of 3 members of the band, Raphael Munnings, Leroy Munnings and Frank Munnings. The 4th. member is Fred Henfield.
Mr. Speaker gave a brief historic overview as he played the 1st. verse of the song "Funky Nassau" which was received by a thunderous round of applause by the Members of Parliament.
Mr. Speaker also mentioned that Raphael, his wife Wendy and son, Raphael ll also reside in his constituency of Nassau Village.
Thank you Mr. Speaker for this KIND GESTURE!!!
