UL3741 has been referenced in the NEC since the 2020 version was released. This standard was created with the intention to identify the shock hazards firefighters are exposed to when performing their duties on buildings that have PV arrays. The standard seems to have created confusion within the industry more recently.
In this edition of Ask Mayfield Anything, Ryan Mayfield brings together three members of the standards technical panel that produced the published standard in the interest of clarifying the standard, its intent, and application. The panel will discuss the goals, limitations, and impact this standard has on the PV industry.
