The 20th annual Steve Biko memorial lecture was held at the weekend and was delivered by American civil rights activist Reverend Al Sharpton.
It signified the role played by Biko and many others in the struggle for freedom.
As the country remembers those struggle heroes, questions arise on whether the post-apartheid government is resolute in bringing justice to the victims of apartheid and their families.
To this end, families such as the Bikos, the Aggetts, the Simelanes, the Calatas and the Timols are still waiting for justice after the Truth and Reconciliation Commission or TRC in the late 1990s.
Following a recent webinar which explored the "Unresolved Business of the TRC", we're joined by Yasmin Sooka, a former TRC commissioner and the executive director at the Foundation for Human Rights, and Thembi Nkadimeng, the sister of former uMkhonto we Sizwe operative, Nokuthula Simelane, who was abducted, tortured and possibly murdered by the apartheid police.
