Описание: A powerful magnitude 8.8 earthquake struck near Russia's eastern coast, prompting tsunami alerts for California and warnings for Hawaii and Alaska.

This is a look at Honolulu, Hawaii during a Tsunami Warning. We're also going to be taking a look at Seaside, Oregon, courtesy of KPTV.

The seismic event occurred at approximately 4:25 p.m. PST in the southeast area of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) initially reported the quake as an 8.0 magnitude, later upgrading it to 8.7, then 8.8.

More than a dozen aftershocks followed, including a 6.9 magnitude quake in the same Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky region, a 6.3 in Vilyuchinsk, Russia, and a 5.6 in Severo-Kuril'sk, Russia.
