Описание: A Hymn to Sobek 𓋴𓃀𓎡𓆋 “sbk”.

This project was made in honour of the crocodile god, the ‘Lord of Shedet’ (Fayyum/Crocodopolis).
It is a hymn extract from the two papyri from the British Museum.

Sobek is carrying and protecting the dead body of Osiris as he swims across the Nile, and an offering table is presented to the god, and is worshiped. The Tamarisk tree of Osiris is on the left.

Hymn:

Hail to Sobek of Shedet! Open be the face of Rahes the gracious, Horus who is in the midst of Shedet! O appear Horus upon the rivers! Rise high, Sobek who is in Shedet, Re-Horus, mighty god! Hail to you Sobek of Shedet!

Hail to you, who rise from the Flood, Horus chief of the Two Lands, bull of bulls, great male, lord of the island-lands! Geb has provided you with your sight, he has united you with your eyes. Strong one, your strength is great! May you go through the Lake-land (the Faiyum), traverse the Great-Green, and seek out your father Osiris.

Now you have found him, and made him live, and said: This cleans the mouth of his father in his name of Sokar! You have commanded your children to proceed and care for your father - that is, him (Sokar) - in their name of ‘Carers of Sokar’; you have pressed upon the mouth of your father Osiris; you have opened his mouth for him.You are his Beloved Son; you have saved your father Osiris; you have protected

May Sobek appear, having ruled the sky, having filled the two lands with his power! Be powerful Sobek the Shedtite, more powerful than the gods, as Horus great of the werret-crown, lord of slaughter in the mansion of the Red-king! May you make holy the two lands with your love, fear of you is greater than that of the gods. May Sobek appear, having repeated births at his coming.
