Stuck in the Snow - Rescue and Recovery!

Описание: Most of you probably aren't aware, but Kevin actually volunteers for the Colorado 4x4 Rescue and Recovery. Which, for those of you who are unfamiliar, is an all volunteer and non-profit organization that specializes in vehicle recoveries on 4x4 trails (I have their mission statement written below). Their team leaders are well-trained and quite unlike how Kevin & I tend to act while out on trails.

But this is exactly why we enjoy volunteering from time to time!
It's an amazing opportunity to learn proper recovery techniques as well as help someone in need!

This trip turned out to be more exciting than we initially thought and we're definitely glad we lended a hand!

“What is Colorado 4x4 Rescue and Recovery and what do we do best?

Colorado 4x4 Rescue and Recovery is an all volunteer 501c3 non profit organization that specializes in person and vehicle recoveries on Forest Service roads, and 4x4 trails, as well as, emergency support when high clearance 4x4 vehicles are needed. The key is that we are vehicle based in response.

As our name implies, we have two categories of deployments:

Recoveries - Recovery team members are deployed when a subjects location is known, and their vehicles are either stuck, or broken down on FS road or 4x4 trail in Colorado. The team will recover the vehicle or help make on trail repairs to get the vehicle to the trailhead where a traditional tow company may retrieve it. Note: We do not replace traditional towing companies, we augment their abilities to provide a better level of service to the off-road community. This is a core value of Colorado 4x4 Rescue and Recovery.

Rescues - Members of our Search and Rescue - Emergency Support Team (SAR-ES Team) are deployed when a subjects location is not well known, or when incoming weather deems it necessary to extract occupants only, and return for the vehicle at a later date. Local Sheriff offices are always contacted with this category of call prior to fielding a team. Often these requests come directly from the local SO. The SAR-ES Team specializes and has additional training, in person extraction via 4x4 vehicle, large area vehicle-based search, communications support (either voice or tracking of other assets via APRS), and back country access support when other teams need or want assistance accessing an difficult area. Co4x4RnR does NOT provide medical assistance, nor do we activate in a standalone capacity when an injury is suspected. Co4x4RnR SAR-ES Team is a vehicle-based SAR team in the Colorado Resource Management and Credentialing System (CRMCS) sponsored by the NCHD, and a statewide deployable vehicle based SAR team in the WebEOC system. Note: We do NOT replace traditional search and rescue teams, we augment their abilities to provide an increased level of public service to the community. Often times we handle lower level calls, allowing them to be free for immediate life-threatening emergencies. This is a core value of Colorado 4x4 Rescue and Recovery.“
