Melincourt Waterfall WALES (Another Reason To Visit The Vale Of Neath) - Picture Perfect South Wales

Описание: You can find the picturesque Melincourt Waterfall (Melincwrt Falls) in the Vale of Neath near the village of Resolven. The 80 feet high waterfall was another place visited by the artist JMW Turner during one of his tours of South Wales in the late 1700s.

JMW Turner painted a partial waterfall of Melincourt as an ‘exercise in rendering water’.

Unlike many waterfalls in the “Waterfall Country” of South Wales, these falls are easy to get to. There is a gentle walk from the car park alongside the Melin Court Brook and it takes less than 5 minutes to get there.

Melincourt waterfall and gorge is also home to mature upland oak woodland. Due to the local humid atmosphere and the narrow valley, twenty species of ferns have been recorded along the banks of the Melin Court Brook.
