(11 Mar 2018) French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte visited India's famed monument to love, the Taj Mahal, in the northern city of Agra on Sunday.
The couple was welcomed by colourful folk dancers as they arrived at the Taj complex.
One of India's most cherished tourist attractions, the 17th century monument was built by order of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, and houses their graves and a mosque.
Macron is on a four-day state visit to India and will return home on Monday after visiting the northern Varanasi city with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
