Our German Take on the Great British Sausage Roll

RECIPE ONE:

Ingredients
Sausage meat
'Laugenbrezel' (you probably need half of a pretzel, cut thinly)
1 teaspoon mustard
parsley
chives
1 shallot
salt & pepper
puff pastry
1 egg with some milk
sesame seeds

Method
Mix everything together. Unroll the puff pastry and place on a lightly floured work surface. Slice it in half, lengthways, to form two long, wide strips. Arrange half the sausage meat in a long log shape down the middle of one of the pastry strips, then fold it over. Use a small fork to close the edges and brush with milk and egg mixture. Last but not least sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. Enjoy!

RECIPE TWO:

German Bratwurst (4 in total)
puff pastry
German or French mustard to brush on the puff pastry

Roll out the puff pastry and create 4 separate sheets. Brush each sheet with mustard and add the Bratwurst. Fold it over, use a small fork to close the edges and brush with milk and egg mixture. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for about 30 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. Enjoy!
