Vintage Woodfast Lathe - Restoration - Forme Industrious

I have a lot of tools I know, though I have bought a lot second hand and in poor repair over the years. Man do I work for them!

This is an Australian Made Woodfast Lathe. It's age is not known exactly, however we estimate that it was made between 1965 and 1978. These lathes were used a lot in Schools across Australia, but since we have become so averse to "Risk" not many schools seem to be teaching the Manual Arts these days. Well, I paid $300 for the lathe and chisels. Additionally I bought new bearings for the Head stock and Tail Stock Live centre, as well as a belt. The restoration was not difficult but like most restorations, it was dirty work!

According to Dale, The Original Woodfast factory with all its manuals and Patterns burned down many years ago, thus a treasure trove of information and history went up in flames.

I will make a rear pulley cover and change the switch to a Vintage style. I love the style of this thing!!
