I Crashed my Paramotor on the Family Vacation

Описание: Summer break finally arrived, and I packed up the girls, the boat, and my paramotor for our annual family reunion. Usually the family on my mom's side meet once a year at Percy Quinn State Park, but because the cabins are being renovated, we are meeting up in Waveland, Mississippi. With my wife stuck at work, it was just me pulling daddy daycare duty—driving through the night, chasing kids, and dodging rainstorms that left my uncovered paramotor soaked in the back of the boat.

Running on no sleep, I should have known better. I even started this trip talking about how hazardous attitudes in aviation can get you in trouble—then promptly ignored my own advice. That decision led me to meet up with local pilot Brennan for what was supposed to be a relaxing beach flight… and instead ended with me crashing my paramotor into the Gulf of America.

The week wasn’t all disaster, though. In part two, you'll see more of the amazing AirBNB compound we all stayed in, and in part three I end on a high note by reconnecting with an old friend, Rusty from Flying Wings of Louisiana. Rusty flies cancer patients to St. Jude completely free of charge, and we had a heartfelt talk about his mission and the momentum they’re building with their raffle of a classic Piper Arrow to keep the flights going.
It was a trip filled with chaos, lessons, laughter, and a crash I’ll never forget.
