Air India Crash: Death of two Manipuri cabin crew in the shadow of a conflict | BBC News India

Описание: Two of the crew members onboard Air India flight 171, that crashed in Ahmedabad on 12 June 2025, were from the north-eastern state of Manipur. Of the two Manipuri women who died was from the Christian Kuki community and was from the Hindu Meitei community. Manipur has been devastated by an ethnic conflict since 2023, with the Kukis and Meiteis engaged in violent strife. The BBC’s Ishadrita Lahiri and Antariksh Jain travelled to Manipur to meet the families of the two women. They found that the deaths had affected not just the families but the two communities too as they navigate the conflict.
