As you wander through Vault 111, you may spot the Cryolator - Fallout 4's version of a freeze ray - in a locked case.
In this video, I demonstrate three ways of getting the weapon out of there.
You can do the first all by yourself, the second with the help of a companion and the third by taking advantage of an exploit.
