TETRA's OARO is a membrane-based desalination technology within our patented TETRA Oasis Total Desalination Solution. While conventional RO systems struggle beyond 70,000 ppm total dissolvable solids (TDS), OARO extends the operating range to 240,000+ ppm without increasing pressure. By balancing osmotic pressure with a unique membrane configuration, OARO efficiently treats ultra-saline brines—making it ideal for produced water challenges like those in the Permian Basin, where TDS often exceeds 120,000 ppm.
OARO is currently operational at commercial scale, with flow rates and volumes aligned with the high‑throughput produced water demands seen in markets like the Permian Basin.
